Stand Strong

“…greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4b; NASB)

Have you ever felt as though you just weren’t good enough? Maybe you’ve wanted to try for a promotion at work, or thought about going back to school, and gave up on the idea because you thought you couldn’t do it. Or maybe you thought about joining a club or small group, but after seeing others who were already there, you decided you weren’t up to their level. There are many of us who are intimidated by others for no obvious reason other than a feeling. Many times we allow our past experiences to affect us so deeply that we become crippled with the fear of doing something else and failing.

When you give your life to Christ, many things change within you that you will not realize unless you step out in faith. Faith that God is with you in all that you do. Scripture tells us:

“if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Cor. 5:17; NASB)

The old person has died with Christ, and no longer lives (Gal. 2:20). The Almighty Father, by His mercy and grace, through the Blood of Jesus Christ, has given you His Holy Spirit. His presence in you will enable you to do far greater things than you could ever have done on your own. The problem most of us have is we keep listening to those old thoughts telling us we don’t measure up. The truth is that God wants you to let that thought process go and rely on His strength, His creativity, His wisdom, and stop believing the lie that you aren’t good enough.

Jesus told His disciples, “…all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27) Let God do the heavy lifting. Stepping out in faith can be a little unnerving in the beginning, but it will get easier with time. Pray for faith and believe that He who is in you wants you to prosper. Give your fear to God and allow Him to show you what He will do if you let Him.

Have a great week and God bless.
